Recently, a three-member delegation from HelpAge International visited our facilities to monitor the progress of the Ethiopian Partners-SIDA ALIGN Project. The visit served as a vital platform for assessing our operational impact and strategic direction.
The delegation conducted a thorough evaluation of our central 15-day medical campaign and visited the Lomi Meda and Kolfe Health Centers. Key areas of praise included:
- The implementation of Age-Friendly Health Services.
- The establishment of dedicated Geriatric OPDs.
- Prioritized care systems designed specifically for elderly patients.
Following the site visits, constructive discussions were held regarding our achievements to date and strategic areas for future strengthening.
Expanding Specialized Medical Care
Parallel to our standard 15-day medical outreach, the Tesfa Medical Team coordinated specialized screenings for dental and ophthalmic health. As a result of these screenings, we provided prescription eyeglasses to 52 elderly beneficiaries, significantly improving their quality of life.
Furthermore, in a collaborative effort with Give Ethiopia and the Kidney Care Society, we successfully conducted specialized kidney screenings and provided necessary medical follow-ups for our residents
Holiday Outreach and Humanitarian Support
To ensure no one was left behind during the festive seasons, we organized a Meal Sharing Program in Addis Ababa and Burayu to celebrate Easter. Additionally, essential support packages were distributed to our community members observing the Ramadan fast.
